Browser Audio Recording Gives the Web a Voice

image from mozilla.libresoft.es Eliot Van Buskirk discusses the impact of Mozilla’s new technology which allows users to easily record audio and video on the music world. On Thursday, Mozilla released the audio recording Add-On called Rainbow to pair with “cloud-computing”. The Add-On fits well with the growing trend of music in the cloud. According to Van, this technology is likely to lead to several things: music identification, simpler online recording, compatibility with Apple and other devices, video controls, and audio/video participation in live concerts.

“Music increasingly lives in the cloud (accessible on the web or in internet-connected mobile apps), so an easy recording/playback standard like this will create a new connection with that cloud that lets us record and play back audio in more places on the web.” (Read On)
