New Music Apps For Aspiring Drummers & MC’s

image from www.mclibrary.duke.edu Musicroom has released two very intriguing iPhone and iPad apps. Killer beats is an app for drummers that contains song info, drum tablature, and performance videos of 40 top drum songs. Fans can learn how to play everything from AC/DC "Back in Black" to Kings of Leon "Sex on Fire" through their device. Several years ago, things like this weren't that easy to come by. Most of the drummers I know learned songs like this by just listening and playing along. The other app is called Freestyle 2.

It gives aspiring songwriters, poets, and MC's on-the-go access to a notepad, instrumental library, rhyming diction, and voice recorder. Preloaded with 14 beats, Freestyle 2 is designed to take a backseat to the user's flow. This version comes with an updated interface, more sharing features, and iTunes library integration.

It's interesting to think about whether or not an app like this would've benefited the legendary rappers. Both of these music apps contain a wide array of features.

If executed well, they sound worth trying out. Have you used them before?
