Coming To A Library Near You: Free MP3s!

Residents of Seattle are in for a treat. They can now download free MP3s via their local library. Through Freegal Music, an online database of songs from Sony Music, patrons will be able to acquire three – free, no DRM strings attached – digital music downloads.

MP3s will be compatible with all devices.

To access the songs you will need to have a library-card number and PIN. A selection of +500,000 songs is available. Music can be downloaded from home.

This offering will help libraries stay relevant.
