MTV Spotlights Music Tech For New Awards Show

281x211 MTV's new awards show, The O Music Awards, is now announcing categories and nominees. The best thing about it? Music tech companies are also getting recognized for their efforts. Unlike MTV's other shows, The O Music Awards will run year-round and continue to report on the changes in the digital music sector. This show, along with Music Meter and Hive, are a part of MTV's ongoing efforts to re-establish itself as a premium music brand. Here are a few of the music tecch companies MTV is spotlighting:

  3. Pandora
  4. RCRD LBL
  5. Shazam

  1. Always funny to watch dinosaurs do the Hail Mary pass.
    They kept lowering the bar and now they’re screwed because they cannot compete with Youtube, TMZ and actual pornography.

  2. Agree with Hump. These are the same people that brought us Jersey Shore. They have nothing to do with music.

  3. They are a marketing company. Actually, they are a damn good marketing company. If they want to lend their megaphone to the music ecosystem, then it helps members of that ecosystem collectively.
    Have either of you used the mtv music meter? it’s a pretty impressive music application regardless of your thoughts about The Situation or Snooki. They also have more music traffic then all but maybe one or two other companies in the space (depending on the month).
