Likester Helps Make Sense Of Your Facebook Likes

image from www.google.com 2137 people Like a band on Facebook, but what does that mean?  Who are all those Likers? If the Like band A, what else do they Like? How does 2137 Likes compare  with other artists? Startup Likester hopes to answer those questions and more for both consumers (fans) and barnds (bands).  Their consumer web site is live since and offers a number of insight into Like.

Likester has only one competitor, Booshaka, that I'm aware of. It recommend checking it out as well.

Please come back after you've tried either and tell us what you think.

  1. Interesting service, but it’d be better for musicians and bands if you were able to use it through your Band Page, as opposed to your personal account.
Meaning, if Joe Blow is in a band called The Hypebots, he can only see the things he Likes in common with friends of his Joe Blow account, not The Hypebots’ account.

  2. This could be a good tool if you use your facebook profile as a way to connect with your fans – you can see what they’re interested in, and then talk about it more to get more interactions.

  3. Totally – but there is no way (yet?) to see what fans connected to your Facebook Band Page are interested in.

  4. Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t find much use for it. I didn’t see anything actionable for a band. Maybe Likester has some examples of how a musician/actor/artist/etc can use this to their advantage?

  5. Hey Chris, thanks for the question. Actionable for a band… Well, how about ranking yourself among all bands in your area, or in your target market? See which bands people who live in your market like, see how those band that have more “likes” then you are treating social media. The top 50,000 items in our database currently have affinity data, showing you people who like this also like these items. Perhaps browse some really big bands that are in the same genre as you, and see what else those people like.
Just ideas, email info [at] likester [dot] com if you have any tips, or what you’d like to see.
    Best!

  6. Would Hypebot readers and Likester want to put together a mini-guide on to musicians can best use the service? We’d publish it here, give it away, etc…

  7. This is interesting but we need more details, how about a video introduction that shows bands how to do this. That would be very valuable. Or a miniguide like Bruce said. More details Please.

  8. Bruce, sorry I just got this note (two months later haha!)
We’re launching some features in about 1-2 weeks that I think will especially relevant for the music/business sector.
I will contact you in about a week for a preview, and yes, let’s for sure talk soon about a guide. I think that’d be a great idea.
