simfy Beats Spotify, Everyone Else To Facebook

image from www.google.com Quietly, streaming music service simfy has beaten Spotify and other rumored music services onto Facebook. For now the simfy Player for Facebook is only available to German, Austrian, and Swiss users, but the company says it will expand into other territories in the third quarter and offer the Facebook player in those countries as well. You can see the player on their Facebook page here, though it won't play outside of the three territories.

Users can listen to and share music with their friends on Facebook using simfy's music streaming service; and friends can directly play the shared music on-demand.

"The simfy Player is a very cool music app for all Facebook and simfy fans," says Gerrit Schumann, CEO of simfy. "We're delighted to be one of the first international interactive music players on Facebook, making it just really easy for users to experience and discover music together with their friends."

  1. I don’t think using streaming music services on facebook will take off as facebook is a site that utilises of features that require sound ie embedded youtube videos. A lot of the time it’s annoying to have to switch off music to listen to a video and then switch back so often I don’t use spotify when browsing facebook.
