Twitter Adds Photos In Tweets, Upgrades Search

Twitpic, Yforg and other services have enabled photo sharing in tweets for some time, but now Twitter is getting into the game. Over the next several weeks, they're rolling out the ability to upload a photo and attach it to a Tweet on Twitter.com and soon via their official mobile apps including, I assume newly acquired Tweetdeck. For users without smartphones, Twitter says they are working with mobile carriers so users can also send photos via text message (MMS).

Twitter is also rolling out a completely new version of Twitter search. When users search for something or click on a trending topic, Twitter will also show related photos and videos on the results page. Firefox users can type a #hashtag or @username directly into the address bar to go right to a search results page or profile page.
