Reuters Says Bye Bye Billboard, Hello Wrap

image from www.google.com Reuters news services ended its long term relationship with Billboard Magazine and The Hollywood Reporter on July 1st, in favor of a new one with The Wrap. The blog, launched just 2 years ago, will serve as Reuters primary source of music and entertainment news.  Because of the deal, The Wrap is adding staff including Chris Willman, formerly of Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly, as lead music reviewer and reporter.

"The Wrap allows us to provide broad coverage of Hollywood that is unmatched by our competitors," said Bob Tourtellotte, editor in charge of Reuters entertainment news.

"We are incredibly excited to extend TheWrap's growing brand through a prestigious, global news partner like Reuters," said Sharon Waxman, CEO and founder of The Wrap News Inc. "We feel strongly that our expertise within the entertainment industry, our ability to break news and transmit it immediately through the news service, offers a huge benefit to Reuters customers as well as an important benefit to the industry we cover."
