The Echo Nest To Help Power Clear Channel’s Pandora-like iHeartRadio

image from www.google.com In what may be the music intelligence platform biggest deal to date, The Echo Nest today announced an agreement with Clear Channel Radio to help power their iHeartRadio digital music platform.  Some in the industry believe that iHeartRadio – which allows listeners to build custom radio stations – is the biggest threat yet to slow or even reverse Pandora's meteoric rise.

The Echo Nest platform maintains 5 billion data points on 30 million songs, including understanding of artist connections, song similarity, mood, style and detailed acoustic attributes (tempo, energy, danceability, time signature, key) to offer users a personalized radio feature.

“Our collaboration with Clear Channel brings the most advanced music intelligence platform to iHeartRadio, enabling its fans to customize their listening experience.” said Jim Lucchese, CEO of The Echo Nest.

  1. The good news is that there is so much going on. The bad news is that there is too much going on that is a similar flavor of the same. Or is not a real trade. For example, a feature in search of a problem.
