Dympol’s Charitable Checkout Offers Simple Way For Musicians To Do Good In 2012

Dympol-logoDympol was one of the launch partners for FanBridge's Partner Ecosystem and they offer a great way to focus one's positive energies for 2012.  Dympol provides a service called Charitable Checkout which connects bands (and other brands) to charities and a sponsoring organization via a widget that is integrated into the ecommerce process or social media settings. It's one simple way for musicians to do good by leveraging the activities they already do and the audience they're already building.

Adding Dympol to FanBridge

Though Dympol's Charitable Checkout is not music-specific it was founded by Bad Religion's Jay Ziskrout and has been integrated into such artist support platforms as Hypebot sponsor FanBridge, The Orchard and BandFarm.  It's also begun operating in Spanish.

Though there are variations, the basic concept of Charitable Checkout is that, in the process of making a purchase from a band, fans will be presented with an opportunity to support a charitable cause identified by the band. The support is typically in the form of a gift or discount purchase offer sponsored by a third party advertiser.

The above video gives a clear look at the process for bands using Dympol via FanBridge on Facebook. It's set up to be as painless as possible with all options from charity to sponsor available as choices. One can develop more specific campaigns with Dympol but being able to easily connect multiple parties is part of the basic service's appeal.

Do you know of other simple ways for bands to do good? Though I'm focused on web topics, other suggestions are also well worth sharing.
