TuneCore Artists To Return To Amazon MP3 EU & UK

image from www.hypebot.comTuneCore announced today that it has reached an agreement with Amazon to return distributed artists to Amazon EU and UK stores over the next five weeks. New releases will go live in the usual time, according to the company. Amazon had pulled TuneCore artists from those territories without warning on January 24th in a dispute over royalty payments by Amazon to TuneCore customers.

On February 1st, Tunecore told customers that the distributor's agreement with Amazon had expired. "Although we fully intended to renew," said TuneCore at the time, they felt they needed "to address the fact that over the course of the agreement, Amazon had not been paying TuneCore Artists to license their songs for download in a significant number of the recordings distributed."

No details of the new agreement between TuneCore and Amazon were provided with today's announcement.

  1. tunecore gave in – lol
their new publishing model is not compatible with itunes/amazon/spotify model and it’s obvious who is wearing the trousers -hahaha

  2. I’d be concerned about Tune Core’s attitude to writer / publisher royalties any way – they dont even ask for it in the upload metadata !
