Alternatives To Scalping Your Own Tickets: Tikly, TicketMob, Ticketscript

Tikly-logoThe recent news regarding String Cheese Incident scalping their own tickets suggests the need for more attention to emerging alternative ticket services. Tikly shares some similar perspectives with String Cheese; while TicketMob expands its services with multiple tailored solutions. Ticketscript adds Facebook options to its European-based operations. In bonus ticketing news, Eventbrite and Crowdsponsor are joining forces to ease the process of matching sponsors and events.

Tikly Says: "It's your show, they're your tickets."

Tikly's subtitle resonates with String Cheese Incident manager Mike Luba's statement, "I would argue that on some level they are our tickets."

That's probably because Tikly founder Emma Peterson "believes that 'at some level, all these tickets belong to the band.'" Tikly is focusing on low charges for reliable ticketing services based on Peterson's own frustration as manager of a band.

Launched in May 2011, Tikly charges begin at $1.00 with an average 10% fee for all tickets. Tikly covers the transaction fees for tickets under $100.

TicketMob Unleashes TuneStub & ElectroStub

Recently TicketMob announced its music-related verticals TuneStub, for live music, and ElectroStub, for djs and electronic music, as well as comedy ticketing via LaughStub.

TicketMob points to a case study of The Roxy Lounge in Scottsdale as an example of how they helped The Roxy Theater expand into Arizona. If you head over to the website of The Roxy Lounge and click your way through the first stages of a ticket transaction you'll find that the shift to TicketMob's site featuring The Roxy Lounge's template is quite smooth.
