  1. This is a definition of a promoter, but doesn’t really get too into what they actually do.
    Steve Rennie looks cool though.

  2. Now I know what a promoter does, but getting a promoter to actually book you is the difficult part. No matter what level you are at, you still have to provide some magical enchantment that you will bring in people to get tickets or buy the beers. Its a catch 22 at the starter level. You don’t have much fans, and no one will let you play anywhere. So what is the magic # of fans that will enchant a promoter to even book you? You need fans, they need to sell drinks or whatever they sell in the clubs/bars to make money. It seems that promoters at venues refuse to promote themselves and leave it up to the artists nowadays, then blame it on the artists if they do not make any money, or a crowd is not gathered.
