Pandora Competitor Senzari Acquires Wahwah.fm

image from www.google.comMiami based international Pandora competitor Senzari has acquired Disco Volante, the Berlin based startup and creator of mobile music service wahwah.fm. Wahwah which launched in 2011, and is available in the US and Germany, turns music on iPhones into net radio stations available globally and to others nearby. Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.


image from www.google.comSenzari, backed by $3 million in funding from 500 Startups and private angel investors, offers a Pandora-like listening experience. It's currently available in Brazil, Spain, United Kingdom and United States.

As part of the transaction, wahwah CEO Philipp Eibach will become Senzari’s VP of Music Services and MD of Senzari Germany, working directly with the US team on the development of Senzari’s next generation music services and expanding the team in Berlin. The office will focus on extending Senzari’s service to iOS, Android and Windows devices, as well as, AMP3, Senzari's proprietary music recommendation platform.

Senzari says it will be unveiling Senzari mobile at LeWeb Paris on December 4-6th, along with the latest version of its AMP3 engine.
