BandPage Partners With Ning To Help Musicians Build Fan Communities

image from api.ning.comIn addition to a fairly new Experience e-commerce platform, BandPage has been working to expand it's content syndication partnerships. Yesterday, that effort got a boost with a Ning integration announced as SF MusicTech. After a quick hookup, artists can now take the content already on their BandPage – music, shows videos, mailing list, etc. – and integrate it into Ning.

What Is Ning?

Within Ning, artists can populate a full site, as the band Run River North did, or use it to power modules

Bands who want to engage with fans further can upgrade to Ning 3.0 to add features and custom pages on the fly: fan photos, individual band member blogs, a private street team forum and contests. In Dada Life’s Dada Land, for example, "Citizens" can climb the member ranks and become Ambassadors by completing missions.

"Every 6 months, new and important services emerge that offer great value to fans and bands alike, which is great, but leads to further fragmentation," according to Chris Wiltsee, Senior Director of Business Development at BandPage  "This is a challenge for bands, as they have limited time and may not be as technologically inclined or even very interested in social media."
