Turntable.fm Launches $3 Interactive Concerts
Still struggling to find it's place in the online music ecosystem, Turntable.fm is now focusing on live concert streaming. Tickets to each interactive concert costs $3. During yesterday's premier, a partnership with the CBGB's Festival, indie band Beat Radio chatted with fans, took photos and let fans communicate with each other alongside their live performance. As Hypebot's Clyde Smith wrote:
"As Turntable.fm has faded, live events have remained one of their bright spots. Given that their Piki app experiment didn't work out, they now seemed to be focusing on what's worked and how successes can be turned into revenue."
