Mr. Martin also had nothing but good things to say about his time at TAG and was proud of his role in developing the company from just 4 agents to over 50 agents in North America.

Martin got his start in the industry as a concert promoter in the northeastern U.S., producing shows for artists such as Dire Straits and Tom Waits. In 1982, Martin made the jump to booking agent, signing on with Magna Artists but soon left to launch his own agency, the Music Business Agency, where he repped a roster that included Billy Bragg, Fela, Yellowman and Hot Tuna.

In 1989, he sold MBA to William Morris and joined the firm as an agent, where he signed a number of major artists including Ziggy Marley, Barenaked Ladies and Crash Test Dummies. Five years later, in 1994, Martin made the move to The Agency Group, joining the firm's newly-opened New York offices.

While at The Agency Group, Mr. Martin repped a personal roster with more than 60 artists, including David Gilmour, Dolly Parton, Brian Wilson, Bob Geldoff, Billy Bragg, Bruce Cockburn and The Scorpions. –  via CelebrityAccess
