"$529 million was pledged to Kickstarter projects last year. That's more than $1,000 a minute." Kickstarter shared, "3.3 million people from nearly every country on the planet backed a project last year." The proof is in the numbers, and musicians are taking notice.

Artists like Leah Song and Chloe Smith, the grassroots folk-soul sisters of Rising Appalachia are a prime example of what the fan-funding platform can do for your music career. Their most recent Kickstarter campaign was recently launched (and is still open) for the purpose of funding their 6th full length album, Wider Circles.

IMG_3149Leah introduces the project by saying, "We're working on our 6th album, so we've really been thinking about all the different ways we want to do this work and really keep it connected to the people who support us." The sisters pride themselves on being entirely grassroot, fan supported, community cultivating musicians – Kickstarter has allowed them to maintain that throughout their careers.
