TIDAL Delivers Major Beyonce “Exclusive,” But You Can Also Watch It On YouTube

BeyonceWhen Jay Z's TIDAL launched it promised exclusives from their 16 superstar artist-partners. Saturday, TIDAL delivered on its promise with an exclusive track from Beyonce.  The only trouble is, you can also watch this exclusive on YouTube.

TIDAL delivered its first major exclusive on Friday – "Die With You," a new track written and performed by Beyonce. But within minutes of the exclusive release, fans had ripped it and plastered it across the internet, including on YouTube.

As of Monday morning this version has been viewed more than 330,000 times.

Does TIDAL encourage piracy?

This all leaves one wondering, does TIDAL – or any exclusive content – actually encourage piracy? After all, we've proven that in the digital age fans want, even expect, what they want when they want it.

  1. Spotify and other streaming services are pretty much legal piracy. Artists are fucked… and all money goes to majors and labels.
Streaming should be used as promotion.

  2. The fact of the matter is that the major labels and artists have managed to reduce indie and DIY artists to what they were pre 2000.
