How and when you post on social media is critical to optimizing your reach and exposure. For musicians and artists, social media has become a simple, yet incredibly effective way to build a following, stay connected with fans, and tap new audiences and markets.

However, social media marketing isn’t as easy as posting updates to every platform and site. Depending on your target audience, marketing goals, and content, there are important factors that may affect the success of your strategy. To help individuals improve their social media management skills, Start A Blog 123 has created this great social media guide.

In this resource, you will find the best and worst times to post on each social media site, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Beyond that, the resource discusses the ideal number of updates per day per platform, how to leverage hashtags, the best time to post to get shares versus click-throughs, and an image size guide for each site.

One immediate takeaway, for example, is that while the best times to post on Facebook may be Thursday and Friday between 1 and 4 PM, the best time to post on Twitter actually depends on whether you are a B2B or B2C brand. If you’re a musician and trying to reach out to consumers, then you should post updates Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, between 12 and 6 PM. On the other hand, if you’re a marketing company trying to sign artists, then Monday through Friday, during business hours, is ideal to maximize reach and engagement.

As you can see, this type of information can be incredibly useful. Nevertheless, it is also noteworthy to mention that these stats and figures are only guidelines. Actual results depend on your specific demographics and goals, so be sure to experiment to find your own sweet spot.

  1. Great infographic! Very detailed and useful. This was actually very surprising! I expected the hours to post to be much later.

  2. Well, this is interesting. But what are the basis for these time slots and how will it be effective for the industries that were mentioned? But, I do get that you have to time it within the timezone of the country of your choice.
