UMG Revenue Grew 10% In 2018, Streaming Up 37%

Universal_music_group_logo__Universal Music Group revenue grew 10% to $6.8 billion USD in 2018 when compared to 2017. The “A Star Is Born” soundtrack, Drake, Post Malone, The Beatles and XXXTentacion were the yer's best sellers for the world's largest music group.

Recorded music revenues grew 9.8% led by streaming revenues which rose 37.3%. That more than offset the decline in download (-23.5%) and physical (-16.1%) sales.

Parent corp Vivendi confirmed plans to sell 50% of Universal Music Group to “one or more strategic partners.” Overall, Vivendi's revenues were up 11.3% to $15.7 billion) in 2018
