Songtrust Now Represents 205K Songwriters, 2M Songs, Reports Record Growth

SongTrustRoyalty collection platform Songtrust has announced impressive year-over-year growth. As of May 31st, Songtrust has more than 2 million songs under management from 26,000 publishers and 205,000 songwriters from 64 countries. Since Q2 2018, the company has added more than 55,000 songwriters, and now registers more than 5,000 new songs weekly.

Spotify's Free Online Recording Studio Soundtrap Adds Unlimited Storage

800+ Artists Lost Tapes In Universal Fire [NY Times]

Spotify Says It Overpaid Songwriters And Wants Money Back

Spotify New $In it's latest spat with music publishers, Spotify says they owe the streamer for overpayments. Last year's US Copyright Royalty Board rate change included a retroactive cut in the minimum payment that the streamer makes on student and family plans along with a graduated 44%  increase in payments to songwriters and publishers over the next five years.
