Quick HitsVevo has hired Scott Anderson as its new SVP of Engineering & Product.  Anderson brings with him over 25 years of technology experience and joins from startup Conversa Health, where he helped the healthcare provider through its first rounds of funding. Prior to that, he led mobile engineering at Walmart.

Jim Mahoney has been promoted to the newly-created role of Merlin VP of Global Operations, following five years at the helm of Merlin’s US operations.  Jim will now oversee Merlin’s worldwide member-facing operations between the agency’s offices in New York, London, Tokyo and Amsterdam.  He was recently named as one of Billboard’s 2019 Indie Power Players.

Sweet, the music loyalty & social commerce platform that rewards fans for the time they spend engaging with brands and artists, has named veteran A&R executive Michael Rosenblatt as Executive Vice President of Partnerships.
 
Rosenblatt has spent his career began when, while working as a messenger at Sire Records in 1977, he discovered the B-52’s. During his time as an A&R executive at the company, he signed and worked with artists from Depeche Mode to the Pretenders and is credited with discovering Madonna and bringing her to the label. In 1999, his work as Vice President of A&R for MCA Records saw Rosenblatt signing the New Radicals and Semisonic, as well as overseeing the soundtracks to For the Love of the Game and Half Baked.
 
Kobalt has announced an exclusive worldwide agreement with American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer, Roddy Ricch. The deal offers Ricch full administration of his catalog, as well as publishing, creative services and synch for all future works.  Sam Taylor, EVP, Creative, Kobalt commented on the deal, “Roddy’s versatility as an artist is one of a kind and allows him to successfully jump into any genre. He’s incredible and fresh for the future of Kobalt!”

Warner Chappell Music has inked a global publishing administration agreement with Lizzo including existing and future work. Lizzo’s debut album, Cuz I Love You, which was released via Nice Life/Atlantic earlier this year, peaked at No.6 on the Billboard 200 chart in the US, and her songs “Juice” and “Truth Hurts” have charted globally.
