CD Baby Cancels Both 2020 DIY Musician Conferences

CD Baby has canceled both of its DIY Musician conferences for 2020. Both the May 30-31 Valencia, Spain and August 27-29 in Austin Texas 2020 editions have both fallen to COVID-19 concerns

“In order to protect the wellbeing of attendees and staff, we are canceling the 2020 DIY Musician Conference in Austin, TX,” the company said in a statement.

For now, CD Baby has no plans to bring the conferences online, CD Baby SVP of Marketing Kevin Breuner said on a new edition of the Music Biz Weekly podcast.

Instead, the company is looking at select online events and smaller local gatherings later in the year.

All ticket holders will be refunded automatically. If you opted in as part of our room block at the Hilton, your hotel rate will also be refunded.

NEXT year’s US conference is scheduled for August 27-29, 2021 in Austin.
