Spotify Pays To Be Riot Games ‘League of Legends’ Exclusive Sponsor

Spotify is now that official audio-streaming partner for League of Legends global gaming events. This is the first time the streamer has ever paid for sponsorship.

Spotify has created a hub for the partnership that includes music, podcasts, League of Legends and Road To Worlds 2020 playlists, and more.

Why the League Of Legends?

“Gamers are soundtracking their experiences with audio tracks. There’s overlap between [gaming and music] audiences, but in the Venn diagram there’s white space on both sides,” said Jane Sauvaget, Spotify’s global head consumer and product marketing.

And then there’s the fact that the official League of Legends soundtrack already has over 4.8 million Spotify listeners per month.
