Keeping Your Instruments, Equipment Safe From Water Damage

As a musician, your instruments and your gear are your bread and butter, so making sure they stay protected is key to your livelihood as an artist. Here, we look at some important ways in which you can keep your instruments and equipment from succumbing to water damage.

In this latest piece from MusicThinkTank, M Banks offers some tips on preventing your instruments and gear from falling victim to water damage.

“If you get soaked, the most important thing to do is let everything dry out thoroughly. This is especially crucial if you have electrical gear. Park your equipment around a dehumidifier, towel off any visible water and wait for at least 24 hours for everything to dry out. Water, especially in electrical systems, is bad news and could cause your expensive equipment to short out and stop working entirely.”
