Free Webinar Today: Why every songwriter needs to join The Mechanical Licensing Collective

The Mechanical Licensing Collective is presenting a free webinar today for self-administered songwriters who have yet to join.

Today, Tuesday, June 22 at 11 a.m. CT PM ET and hosted by The MLC’s Head of Educational Partnerships Serona Elton, the webinar will educate songwriters on how they can receive digital audio mechanical royalties from The MLC and will include ample time for participant questions.

Topics covered will include:

  • How The MLC defines self-administered (also known as self-published or independent) songwriters.
  • The history behind, and the basics of, mechanical licensing and royalties.
  • The MLC’s role in mechanical licensing and its overall scope of work.
  • Who is eligible for MLC Membership.
  • The steps self-administered songwriters can take to join The MLC for free.
  • The MLC recently began paying out digital audio mechanical royalties to its Members each month, making it more important than ever for all eligible songwriters, composers, lyricists, and others to join The MLC in order to receive the royalties they are owed.
