Indie Music

Paved Paradise is a glorious traveling indie music expo from Secretly, Ghostly Int’l, Numero

From September 9 to 26 a 24-foot truck will travel to 15 cities reimagining the indie record store experience outside of locations like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Nashville’s Third Man Records.

“Equal parts pop-up shop, block party and roadside fruit stand,” the Paved Paradise tour is the brainchild of Ghostly InternationalNumero Group, and the Secretly Group record labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, and Secretly Canadian.

This traveling expo of music will be set up outside the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Third Man Records, the birthplaces of Secretly, Ghostly, and Numero in Bloomington, Detroit, and Chicago as well as breweries, flea markets, and independent venues.

Each day-long Paved Paradise event will fill two tents with LPs, 45s, cassettes, CDs, and limited edition ephemera like colored vinyl variants, out-of-print items, vintage goods, and miscellaneous merchandise spanning the catalogs of these five record companies.

In addition to DJ sets and surprise performances from Secretly artists, Secretly staffers like Numero Group Co-Founders Ken Shipley and Rob Sevier, plus Ghostly International Special Projects Director and Brooklyn Flea Record Fair Director Amanda Colbenson, will be on-site to talk shop, make recommendations, and share stories behind the records.

In partnership with Qobuz, Paved Paradise will offer an interactive, high-fidelity listening station in all 15 cities.
