Clubhouse adds high quality ‘Music Mode’ for musicians

Social audio app Clubhouse has added a higher quality audio “music mode” in a bid to bring more musicians and music events onto the platform.

Given Clubhouse’s large active audience including many music industry professionals, Music Mode offers a viable option for musicians working to broaden their fanbase.

Like most newer social platforms, there is likely a first-mover advantage for musicians who jump on now. Axel, Bomani, Tom Newman are among the creators already taking advantage of Music Mode.

What is Music Mode?

“Whether you’re workshopping that new song, playing piano, or hosting a jam session with your friends,” says Clubhouse, “Music Mode optimizes Clubhouse to broadcast your music with high quality and great stereo sound. “

More than just “better streaming” Music Mode enables the use of professional audio equipment for live performances including external USB microphones or mixing boards.

To enable Music Mode when you’re speaking in a room, tap the three dots and select “Audio Quality” from the menu, then choose the “Music” option.

Music Mode will roll out on iOS first with Android as a fast follow.
