#SupportIndieMusic: Today is last Bandcamp Friday of 2021

As with every first Friday of the month since March of 2020, today, December 3rd, Bandcamp is waiving its revenue share to help support artists and indie labels hurt by the pandemic.

Since its inception more than 800,000 indie music fans bought $56 million dollars in music and merch on Bandcamp Fridays.

On these first Fridays, an average of 93% of a fan’s money reaches the artist or label after payment processor fees. That compares to a purchase on any other day of the month when an average of 82% reaches the artist or label.

There is no word yet if Bandcamp Friday will be extended into 2022.
