#CancelSpotify trends, Apple Music trolls: Is Neil Young just the start of Spotify’s problems?

Spotify complying with Neil Young’s request to take down his music over their support of antivaxer Joe Rogan could prove to be just the start of ongoing problems for the streamer.

Apple Music threw shade on Spotify Thursday by prominently promoting Neil Young’s music and pointing out on Twitter that you could still stream him there.

SiriusXM responded to Spotify’s takedown by quickly re-launching their Neil Young station.

#BoycottSpotify

Young’s fans are also supporting his decision by organizing a boycott of Spotify and canceling their subscriptions.

On Thursday afternoon, both #SpotifyDeleted and #CancelSpotify were trending on Twitter. Others used the hashtag #BoycottSpotify.

Just two examples:

For now Young’s boycott is isolated but what happens if some younger and more famous artists decide to boycott the streamer weather over Joe Rogan what other reasons?

  1. Spotify in and of itself is fine, but literally use any other platform than mobile. On computer, for example, you can skip a few seconds forward or backwards in a song, which you can’t do on mobile, as well as how you have unlimited skips, rather than 3 per hour.
