CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference returns in August live and online
CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference will return on August 26-28 in Austin, Texas. Now in its 7th edition, the conference is designed as an educational, and motivational gathering for independent musicians.
The conference promises a virtual option.
Sessions by industry leaders and fellow artists are planed, with topics hitting the key issues that ndependent musicians face. Hands-on sessions will include livestream strategies, connecting to fans on social platforms, launching a release, marketing music, and more.
Over three days, attendees will also get a chance to work one-on-one with expert mentors and play with their fellow artists;
“One of our goals is for musicians to walk away with plans of action and the fire to get it done,” explains Kevin Breuner, CD Baby’ SVP of Artist Engagement and Education.
Past conference keynotes and speakers have included Questlove, DMC (Run DMC), Mary Gauthier, Jack Conte (Patreon), Alejandro Escovedo, Bob Boilen (NPR), and music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas.
“The DIY Musician Conference changed my life,” said Canadian indie-soul recording artist Ahi who attended the conference and went on to be nominated for a Juno Award and perform on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. “It exceeded my expectations. I’m in the clouds.”
2022’s programming will be announced later this spring.
