Tell us about how you got your start in the music industry, and how it lead to the work you do today.

Over the past 10 years, Dan has been a successful International Artist, Activist and Events Manager, confidently spreading joy while making a lot of pieces fall in line. Dan started in the music business co-managing left-of-center, R&B vocalist, Kelela, who’s musical career initially broke all across Europe. This allowed Dan a very unique vantage point into the business of music and the expansiveness of music performance. Dan went on to manage a few other acts but really found deep joy behind the decks as a DJ, KKINGBOO, playing and curating queer centered parties across East London. Upon arriving back to the states after a 4 year stint in the UK, Dan met 7000COILS co-founder Lalin St Juste, a hypnotizing, Bay Area vocalist and they joined super powers to create a hub for releasing music and normalizing radical wellness as a way of life.

Is there a success story or career milestone that you are most proud of?

Dan’s entire life is a success story – there were no cards laid out to play with a favorable ending. Dan has relentlessly created a life full of revolutionary sonic joy and unforgettable experiences and knows that there is no end in sight.

Are there any projects you’re working on or company updates that you’re most excited about?

7000COILS is excited to have to released Lalin St Juste’s second solo EP, Vertulie, alongside a unique series of NFT’s showcasing more of the visual identity of the label through exploring the spiritual legacy of their bloodlines.

Outside of your work in music, do you have any other hobbies/ particular areas of expertise/interest etc.?

Dan LOVES walking dogs and animal care in general. Dan is always looking to spend any extra time caring for and playing with animals via the expansiveness of pet care. Dan also is a 2D-3D visual artist and has recently begun sharing new works inspired by years of creative suppression coming to a head and spilling over, uncontrollably.

Anything else to add?

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. It starts with your belief in that fact and that knowingness will inform every decision you make until you reach the destination of your choosing. Make every mistake you can, don’t judge them, just make them, study and learn from them and make new decisions as you need to. Please, please, laugh at yourself along the way, it’ll keep you very cute!
