Feed adds 23M Downtown tracks to Adaptr startup music licensing service

B2B music licensing service Feed Media Group has added Downtown Music Services to its Adaptr subscription-based platform that simplifies how startups license music.

Adaptr preclears both publishing and performance rights and manages royalty payments.

The deal makes the more than 23 million songs that Downtown administers available as part of a growing Adaptr catalog that includes Warner Music Group, Beggars Group, Merlin, Songtrust, and others.

Music Drives Startup Growth & Retention

Music can be an important growth and retention driver, particularly for fitness, social, and gaming startups. FMG says that its data shows in-app music helps create 4.5x more time spent, a 70% lift in key metrics, and 2x day 30 retention growth, with users extending their session time with products by up to 630%.
