TikTok is an undeniably great place to share your content with thousands of people all over the world. It offers a great chance to reach more people, and in turn, potential fans! Although it isn’t a guaranteed way to blow up overnight, it definitely doesn’t hurt to share your work on as many platforms as possible. If you’re trying to improve the success of your TikTok’s, here are some tips to help you out. Here’s the rundown…

7 Ways To Create Better TikTok Content

Find Your Niche

On TikTok, there are tons of different types of content to explore. If you frequent the app, you already know your For You page is very tailored to you personal interests. That means if you want to reach others with like minded interests, having your content remain within a specific niche is a great way to do it.

If you’re currently on tour, try out behind-the-scenes travel clips. If you’re a great producer, the music production side of TikTok is a great place to live. Are you a killer guitar player? There’s a side of TikTok for you, too. Whatever you’re good at, master it and share it on TikTok. Trust me, there are thousands of people who’d love to see more.

Be The First To Comment on Larger TikToker’s Videos

TikTok is a big community, so it’s important to stay in touch with what other people in your niche are doing. That being said, be sure to interact with other creators as much as you can. Specifically, leaving comments on bigger TikToker’s videos is a great way to get noticed and reach their audience as well. Especially if you comment something particularly funny or memorable, your comment may be pinned to the top and get major traction, drawing all those people to your own account.

Hashtag Accordingly

Hashtags are important on almost every platform. With the right hashtag strategy, you can increase the reach, engagement, and visibility of your posts on TikTok in no time. Luckily, figuring out which hashtags are right for you is fairly simple.

First, you can search popular hashtags on TikTok within the “Discover” tab on the bottom of your screen. Tap that and scroll through the previews of all the trending hashtags.

Keep in mind, these are just the most popular, overall hashtags. If you’re looking for more interactive engagement with a more segmented fanbase, we recommend looking into artists like you on the platform and checking out the hashtags that are popular in their circles. — Make a solid list of these and keep them in mind for your own efforts.

Quality Matters

Bad quality video is the worst, and if it’s meant to represent you? Even worse. Make sure the quality of your content is in tip-top shape. The overwhelming majority of top-performing TikToks (83.2% to be specific) have a video resolution of 720p or higher.

For great sound quality, try an external mic. For great lighting, invest in a good ring light. You can find many different, affordable options online.

  • If you like to shoot outside, opt for a wireless/rechargeable one.
  • If you only shoot inside but at different times of the day, opt for a ring light with different color light options.

Having great quality videos doesn’t have to break the bank. Simple things like these are all available on Amazon, and they’re a good investment for the future anyway!

Incentivize Engagement

User-generated content is king, so keep that in mind as you move through the
platform. Anything you can do to incentivize engagement with your content can
boost your reach in no time.

*Pro Tip* Even if a trending challenge doesn’t necessarily align with your brand, it’s still useful to get involved. If an unrelated video of yours goes viral, it’ll bring your other posts along for the ride.

Keep It Short & Sweet

It takes 3 seconds to lose someone’s attention. That means in the first 3 seconds of your videos, you need to create an incentive for further engagement. The most well-known theory on TikTok is that shorter videos of 10 to 15 seconds perform better than their lengthier counterparts.

With shorter videos, viewers are more likely to watch till the end (or even multiple times) which is a good signal to the algorithm that people are enjoying this content and it should be shared more often.

Try TikTok’s Promote Feature

With Promote, you can turn any organic TikTok video into an ad, right from the app. You can start reaching new audiences, build a following, and drive traffic to your business website. Once you run a Promote campaign, you also get insights into your audience and how your videos are performing to help you improve your efforts moving forward.

In Conclusion…

Compared to other social platforms, TikTok boasts better brand recall than any other platform. That means when you post on TikTok, your content sticks in the minds of your viewers more than anywhere else. As an artist using TikTok to advertise, promote, and share with their fans, this is a major source of engagement to take advantage of!
