RAMPD.org was founded by award-winning recording artist, touring performer and personality, Lachi in 2021 after a public talk with the Recording Academy revealed not enough was being done for music professionals with disabilities and neurodivergence.
In 2023 RAMPD received Ford funding for its member-development initiatives, a Music Business Association award for its work consulting on disability equity, and a Zero Project award for bringing career opportunities to its membership through its web platform, where professional disabled talent can be sourced and hired.
Founded in 2021, RAMPD found coverage in Billboard, NYTimes and Hollywood Reporter for being a first-ever establishment bringing competitive opportunities to music creators and professionals with disabilities, neurodivergence or chronic illness.
RAMPD has partnered with the Recording Academy to pepper the annual GRAMMY Awards with high-visibility accessibility measures, including an on-screen stage ramp (used in iconic Sam Smith/Kim Petras 2023 performance), ASL on the red carpet, and live captioning.
July is Disability Pride Month!
In July 2023, RAMPD Records (distributed through United Masters) is releasing “Lift Me Up” a track and music video tribute to late disability activist Judy Heumann, created by and featuring esteemed artists with disabilities Lachi, Gaelynn Lea, James Ian, April Rose Gabrielli, Kulick, Ali Stroker, Amber Galloway, Otis Jones and Nell Russell.
