# Inside RAMPD and Concord’s Inclusive Songwriting Camp [PHOTOS]

[**RAMPD**](https://rampd.org/?ref=hypebot.com)**(Recording Artists and Music Professionals with Disabilities)** brought more than 20 members of its national network to [**Los Angeles**](https://www.bandsintown.com/c/los-angeles-ca?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) last week for its first songwriting camp with [**Concord Music Publishing**](https://concord.com/music-publishing/?ref=hypebot.com)**.**

Held September 2–4 at Paramount Studios, the three-day event connected **disabled and neurodivergent artists, songwriters, and producers** with Concord-affiliated creatives for a series of collaborative writing sessions. The camp was supported through Concord’s Impact Investment initiative, which funds projects and organizations serving or led by underrepresented communities across music and theater.

The partnership was designed to create the kind of **meaningful industry access that disabled creators have historically been denied** **— not only visibility**, but opportunities to build relationships, make music and potentially place their work through one of the world’s largest independent music publishers.

RAMPD founder and CEO [**Lachi**](https://www.bandsintown.com/a/216093-lachi?utm%5Fsource=hypebot&came%5Ffrom=900) said, ahead of the event: 

> *"This is a first for RAMPD, and it’s exactly the kind of real-world opportunity our Member Network deserves. We’re putting Disabled songwriters and producers in the room with the largest independent music publisher in the world, giving them a real shot at getting their stories synced, heard by millions, and their talent recognized on the global stage."*

Accessibility was incorporated throughout the camp rather than treated as an afterthought. The setup included multiple wheelchair-accessible studio rooms, travel assistance for participating RAMPD members and accommodations tailored to a range of disabilities and access needs.

Founded in 2021, RAMPD works to expand representation, opportunity and career sustainability for music professionals with disabilities, neurodivergence and chronic conditions. Its first camp with Concord offered a glimpse of what can happen when access is built into the creative process from the beginning.
