# Let The Streaming Wars Begin! Napster Touts 14 Million Track Catalog

Get ready for announcements from MOG, Rdio, Rhapsody (who just announced a jump in subscribers) and others hoping to turn the spotlight away from Spotify. This morning, just ahead of today's [Spotify launch](https://www.hypebot.com/spotify-to-launch-in-the-us-today/), competitor Napster announced that its U.S. catalog and reached 14 million tracks and 17 million in the UK and Germany. Most music streamers offer 8 – 10 million tracks. Napster's prices can also be a bit lower than some competitors.
  
  
With a contract, Napster plans fall to as low as $4.17 monthly and $8 for mobile use. That doesn't beat Spotify's free 10-20 hours a month of listening; and MOG is reportedly working on expanding its free trial.

Napster is owned by Best Buy and also offers purchase option with tracks as low as 69 cents.
