(UPDATED) Consolidation in the world of artist management is heating up and **Live Nation Entertainment** is on the verge of a major pickup with an announcement expected today, Monday Sept. 19th, according to the company's chairman, **Irving Azoff**. His remarks came on Friday at a **Bank of America Merrill Lynch** investor conference in Beverly Hills, California.

"We are in the middle of **an acquisition that we will announce Monday** that is pretty major in the management area." Azoff said, without offering any insight into which management company.

The acquisition of a major management firm would strengthen Live Nation's existing artist management operation, **Front Line**, which reps a roster that includes T**he Eagles, Aerosmith** and **Christina Aguilera** among numerous others.
