Martin Atkins has a **Kickstarter** campaign to fund his new book **[Band:Smart](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/martinatkins/martin-atkins-new-book-band-smart?ref=hypebot.com)**. I made a pledge, and you should too. Here's why: The "advice for musicians" space is overcrowded, and to **filter out the crap**, we need to **support the people that have actually lived** what it is they're trying to tell us. As a touring musician, indie label owner and longtime participant in rock's underbelly, Martin Atkins knows what the fuck he's talking about.

That Martin delivers his advice with a heavy dose of expletive laced humor, just makes him that much more special. His last book was titled **"Welcome To The Music Business You're Fucked**". If we each gave $1 for every time we've thought that and not said it, this book would be funded in seconds.
