Fans looking to immerse themselves in the life and world of the late **Michael Jackson** now have their chance. Next year, an online virtual world and social network called *Planet Michael* is expected to launch. This game will be free-to-download and allow players to create avatars, interact with each other, and take a journey through the environments that reflect on Jackson’s most famous songs, such as *Thriller*, *Beat It*, and *Smooth Criminal*.

The hope of the developers is that they will be able to attract mainstream and casual gamers; those that are interested in online gaming, but are intimidated by MMOs like *World of Warcraft* and virtual worlds such as *Second Life*. Like the others, users can buy things in game and create and trade items for real money.
