This was the final day of MidemNet and the first day of the broader Midem music industry trade show. MidemNet was a real success though like most things there is always room for improvement. If you attended and have suggestions, please email me – bruce(at)skylineonline(dot)com – as they will debrief me in a week or so. The wonderful **Reed Midem team** are fabulous hosts and very much about creating the best show possible.

In our closing **Visionary Chair Committee** sedsion, there was a real sense of optimism that even in (or perhaps because of) a recession this will be another year of major changes in the industry: mobile music improved sound, various new models which will need to be given more time to mature before the rights holders start pouncing. **Terry McBride** and I agreed that some of the most interesting stuff wasn't ever going to be at any conference because it was being created in a garage or dorm room somewhere.
