From 6am – 6pm (ET/PT), the channels will each add their spin to a cross section of genres, exposing new artists chosen by fan activity on Viacom's **Artist Platform** alongside major artists. **How To Be Part Of Music Independence Day** To participate in Music Independence Day, artists simply claim or create their page on the Artist Platform ([artists.MTV.com](http://www.artists.mtv.com/?ref=hypebot.com), [artists.CMT.com](http://www.artists.cmt.com/?ref=hypebot.com) or [artists.VH1.com](http://www.artists.vh1.com/?ref=hypebot.com)), and opt in to “[Music](http://www.mtv.com/artists/opportunities/opportunity/mtv-independence-day-j?ref=hypebot.com) [Independence Day](http://www.mtv.com/artists/opportunities/opportunity/mtv-independence-day-j?ref=hypebot.com).” These free Artist Platforms are powered by Topspin, but non-Topspin artists can participate. Guided by country music superstars, CMT will celebrate "music without boundaries" and showcase the established, emerging and indie artists across the fringes of country music. **On VH1:** Hosted by “VH1’s Top 20 Video Countdown’s” Jim Shearer, who will be based out of the City of Brotherly Love on July 4th.
