(*Click on image from the Wired post to enlarge.*) Other bloggers and web sites are reporting similar hijackings.

Former imeem users were already pissed off that their playlists disappeared when [MySpace bought](https://www.hypebot.com/imeem-to-be-integrated-within-myspace-music/) the struggling site. But ads? And without warning? In case you wanted to give the MySpace the benefit of the doubt, a company spokesperson [confirmed](http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2009/12/myspace-replaces-imeem-playlists-with-ads/?utm%5Fsource=feedburner&utm%5Fmedium=feed&utm%5Fcampaign=Feed%3A+wiredbusinessblog+%28Blog+-+Epicenter+%28Business%29%29&utm%5Fcontent=Google+Reader) that they were responsible for the ads.

Just before the holidays, MySpace asked users to [be patient](https://www.hypebot.com/myspace-says-wait-a-little-longer-for-your-imeem-playlists/) while they took a little longer to rebuild the playlists by hand. It's not clear whether the ads will then be replaced as well.
