(UPDATED) Specific Media bought MySpace from News Corp. two years ago for $35 million, a fraction of the $580 million it sold for in 2005\. Since then, they've been promising a major makeover that wil continue the site's focus on music and entertainment. Today's video – debuted on the site without any announcement from the company – shows a music and entertainment focused social hub linked Facebook and Twitter.

Apparently artists will have control over their pages, as they did in the original [MySpace](http://www.myspace.com/?ref=hypebot.com), with several slides in the video showing artist and fan page analytics and direct messaging to "Top Fans".

It's easy to dismiss MySpace as a has-been, but the slick design shows real promise. If you believe that MySpace might be resurrected from the near dead, you can sign up for an invite [here](pecific%20Media bought MySpace from News Corp. in July of 2010 for $35 million, a fraction of the $580 million it sold for in 2005).
