**Stipple Photo Tagging Opens Public Beta**  

If you're familiar with [ThingLink's photo tagging capabilities](https://www.hypebot.com/thinglink-adds-ecommerce-links-to-photo-tagging-including-topspin-itunes/) as employed by [Simple Plan](https://www.hypebot.com/simple-plan-illustrates-the-power-of-thinglink/) and [Blink 182](https://www.hypebot.com/check-out-this-great-blink-182-interactive-album-cover-from-thinglink/), then you're already familiar with the concept of [Stipple](https://stipple.com/?ref=hypebot.com).

Stipple is [developing its own platform](http://techcrunch.com/2012/07/26/stipple-public-beta/?ref=hypebot.com) for tagging and sharing photos.Of importance to music marketers, the images can be shared and embedded beyond the platform. Publishers are seeing a high level of engagment with tagged photos. Ecommerce and other monetization options are easily enabled.

Late last month Tumblr introduced [Pinned Posts](http://mashable.com/2012/06/28/tumblr-pinned-posts-ad/?ref=hypebot.com#72627Pinned-Posts) allowing you to have a particular Tumblr post featured on your followers' dashboards. This adds to content marketing options on Tumblr such as [Highlighted Posts](https://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2012/02/fresh-music-marketing-opportunities-for-tumblr-instagram-chill.html).

But consider carefully whether it's a good fit for what you do on Tumblr. "[pinned posts](http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/pinned-posts?ref=hypebot.com)" are getting some strong negative reactions.
