(UPDATED) As expected, **UMG promoted Amanda Marks** to Global Head of Digital Accounts reporting to Rob Wells, President of Global Digital. Marks had been EVP & GM of Universal Music Distribution.

Apple may be close to signing UMG, it's last [major](https://www.hypebot.com/and-sony-makes-3-apple-nears-cloud-music-launch/), but it has **no deals with music publishers**, according to [AllThingsDigital](http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023%5F3-20064798-93.html?ref=hypebot.com) making a rumored early June launch less likely. And then there's deals with **indie labels.**

  
Digital music distributor **TuneCore** has named **Malcolm Gillian** as **EVP** of Brand & Business Development. Malcolm SVP of Branded Entertainment at marketing agency Relevent Partners and VP of Marketing at Track Entertainment.

**Ditto Music**, the UK's largest **digital music distribution** and label services company has [launched](http://www.prweb.com/releases/digital-music-distributio/sell-music-online/prweb8448836.htm?ref=hypebot.com) a US office on Music Row in **Nashville**.
