# Official: 11 Million Are Trying Apple Music For Free

According to official Apple stats, 11 million users have signed up for a free Apple Music trial. 2 million of those are trying out its multi-user family plan.

5 weeks after launch, 9 million have signed up for a 90 free trial of Apple Music's $9.99 subscription service. Another 2 million are trying out its $14.99 family plan. "We're thrilled with the numbers so far," Eddy Cue, Apple's SVP of Internet Software and Services, told [USA Today](http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2015/08/05/apple-music-hooks-11-million-trial-members-app-store-has-record-july/31197721/?ref=hypebot.com).

That means that about 10% of Apple iTunes users have signed on for the free test despite a major media blitz.

The real stat to watch is how many 90 free day trials convert to paying customers.
