I'm packing for an overnight flight to Paris and then on to [**Midem**](http://www.midem.com/?utm%5Fsource=HYPEBOT&utm%5Fmedium=Banner%2Bwebsite&utm%5Fcampaign=HYPEBOT%2BBanner%2Bwebsite%2BMIDEM%2B2011). The question that's running through my mind is whether or not this is finally the year that the music industry changes. Not the forced change of slashed budgets and layoffs, but a radical shift in attitude and focus that can realize the promise of a digital age of music creation, distribution and marketing. I've written an essay about my concerns and hopes that will appear in tomorrow's **[MidemBlog](http://blog.midem.com/?ref=hypebot.com)**.
