Audio content identification provider Pex has been acquired by Vobile, a global digital content protection and transaction services company.

Last year Pex found an average of [20 times as many Sound IDs as songs on TikTok](https://www.hypebot.com/are-tiktok-song-ids-accurate/), meaning that a massive amount of music was going unidentified, unclaimed and unmonetized. In response, the startup launched [Pex Discovery](https://pex.com/?ref=hypebot.com) to help rightsholders find and claim content.

### Pex acquired by Vobile

Today’s acquisition Pex enhances Vobile’s services for the music industry and strengthens its position as a global provider for digital audio and video content protection and monetization. The Pex team has joined Vobile subsequent to the acquisition.
